Fungal Nail Infection
Fungal nails may appear discoloured/or thickened. Fungal nail treatment begins with precise mechanical debridement of the affected nail using state-of-the-art podiatric instrument to meticulously thin the nail plate and remove as much of the infected tissue as possible. This controlled reduction of nail thickness enhances the permeability of anti-fungal agents, into the nail bed thus improving treatment efficacy. Following debridement, a pharmaceutical-grade topical antifungal agent is applied, formulated to penetrate deeply into the nail matrix and bed, targeting the fungal pathogens at the source. This method helps reduce fungal infection and also promotes healthier nail regrowth with minimal discomfort for the patient.Treatment may take up to a year depending on the degree of infection, as a nail takes approximately 12 months to grow. Follow ups are required every 6 weeks.

Foot Health Assessment
Foot problems can affect anyone, with risks such as infections, high-pressure areas leading to calluses and corns, and nerve damage (neuropathy) impacting movement and sensation. A regular foot health assessment is crucial for maintaining optimal foot health, especially if you're prone to foot issues due to lifestyle, high activity levels or underlying medical conditions such as Diabetes Heart disease Kidney disease Hyperthyroidism Rheumatoid arirthis Duringyour appointment, your podiatrist will provide routine foot care, including a thorough examination of the skin, nails, and any areas of concern. A neuropathy test will be conducted to assess sensation in the feet, ensuring early detection of nerve damage. Additionally, vascular testing will be performed using a Doppler ultrasound and an Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) test to evaluate your circulation and detect any potential issues with blood flow. The results from these assessments will be discussed with you and, if necessary, shared with your GP. Based on the findings, your podiatrist will develop a personalized, long-term care plan to help manage any issues and promote ongoing foot health.

Biomechanical Gait Assessment for Foot & Ankle Injuries
This appointment is designed for individuals experiencing persistent pain or injury related to walking or running. However, pain doesn’t need to be present to visit a podiatrist. Many people come in with concerns about foot deformities such as bunions or hammer toes, or to improve posture and prevent injury. During your visit, the Podiatrist will conduct a comprehensive gait and biomechanical assessment, which includes a thorough examination of the pelvis, hips, knees, ankles, feet, and sometimes the spine. The assessment will also evaluate muscle flexibility, strength, and joint range of motion to identify any underlying issues. After the biomechanical assessment, the Podiatrist will combine this data with your medical history to develop a personalized treatment plan. This may include orthotics, an exercise program, footwear recommendations, or a referral to your GP for additional imaging, such as X-rays or ultrasounds, if further investigation is necessary. Common Biomechanical Issues that Orthotics Can Help With: Bunions Heel pain Shin splints Flat feet Plantar fasciitis Metatarsalgia/Morton’s neuroma Stress fractures Knee pain Back pain General foot fatigue Heel spurs This comprehensive approach aims to address both the symptoms and underlying causes of discomfort, optimizing your foot health and overall mobility.

General Verruca Treatment
The initial treatment will include a comprehensive evaluation of the verruca, considering its duration, size, and overall condition. Following this, a topical solution will be applied directly to the verruca. Since verrucas are caused by a viral infection, we will also offer guidance on strengthening your immune system to improve your body’s ability to combat the virus. After the treatment, the foot will be dressed, and it is essential to keep the area dry for the next 24 hours. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled within 7-14 days to assess the verruca and monitor treatment progress. Please note that treating verrucae requires time and persistence, and patience is key to achieving successful results.
